We played host to K2 on the back of some consistently decent performances that havent been rewarded as they deserve to have been.This time we played them down at the Bryn and it certainly seems to suit our style of football better.
As usual K2 played their open,attacking style of football but we worked very hard defensively,so restricted them to hopeful long shots.Unlike us,we gave the ball away for the bulk of the half and managed to frustrate ourselves a little.K2 were rewarded for their pressure with a goal - albeit an unlucky one to concede with the ball ping-ponging around the box before ricocheting off Jamie into the net.
Halftime with the same score - not a great half for us but easily fixed - bit more talking,get the ball down and get our passing going! The 2nd half was a whole different game - suddenly,we all wanted the ball,we defended smarter,we talked more and started to resemble the team that has played so well recently.The whole half was played out between the penalty boxes - as both teams played good attacking football but didnt create chances to trouble the keepers as both defences played exceptionally well!Grant didnt have a save to make,M & M continued to look unbeatable in the middle,both fullbacks shut down the wingers well AND got forward,Johnsy & Dan didnt get as much ball as they have recently but worked really well together to break up play and feed the wide guys.
Game finished 0-1 so a disappointing result but once again,encouraging TEAM performance with everyone working hard for each other - keep up this workrate & attitude and we will definitely start to get rewarded for our efforts soon.
